What we welcome

Ideas may explore planting choices, seasonal care, garden design, materials, garden history or ways of noticing a garden. We are especially interested in clear, original angles that help readers understand one subject without requiring specialist access or a particular kind of garden.

A strong pitch

Tell us the central question, the points you would cover and why the subject has lasting interest. Mention any sources or experience relevant to the proposal, and flag uncertainty or location-specific details. A pitch should be specific enough to distinguish its idea from a general overview.

Sending a proposal

Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option, then describe your proposal in the message. Please do not send a full draft unless we have asked for one. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we cannot guarantee a response time.
